Matthew Fouts
Attorney
Matthew practices criminal defense and immigration law, with an immigration practice centered on removal defense, representing people facing deportation in immigration court. Directly after law school he worked at the Portland immigration court, so he knows how those courtrooms run from the inside, and he handles the firm's immigration consultations. In criminal cases he does much of the firm's technical work, motion practice and legal research, building the written arguments that shape a case before it reaches the courtroom. He earned both a law degree and a master's degree, taught English in Japan during the 29 months he lived there, and speaks conversational Japanese.
